Determine whether record is opened by another user
« on: September 02, 2020, 09:37:04 pm »
Heyho!

We built an order picking app (1) which shows a list of orders for a chosen shipping date. After selecting an order a second app (2) displays the order lines for the user to select. Both apps do not have a master table and are not loading an actual record. The orders are to be opened exclusively.

In a perfect world I would like to give the user the information that the record is locked on the template grid element in app 1, disable it or display a lock symbol on it. It would also be alright to react inside the newly opened app 2, inform the user and close it again.

How could I achieve this using built in functionality like "show other users on the record"?

Thanks,
Patrique

Hi Patrique,

this will not be possible right now in the grid view, but you could give you non table app (2) the table of the order, even if it does not have a single field from that table. You could then load a record by id when you start the app and from there on you have a regular record locking.
